Atmosphere, Food, & staff IRIE 🦁🦁🦁
Very good food. And has a buffet.
I love me some Jamaican food. Has a nice carribean flair and an awesome staff. Hidden gem for sure! Try the oxtails, fall off the bone delicious.
Every time I eat here the food is exquisite. I love the atmosphere is always welcoming.
The little old lady with glasses is freaking rude, made me want to just get up and leave but they had me pay before I got my food!
So good! Everything I've had there is delicious!
Man!!! Good people fire 🔥 food! Thanks pops!
I hope you like spicy but it’s the good kind of spicy. I enjoyed the food, but it takes a little bit to get to you. Nonetheless I found it to be a very enjoyable meal, I would recommend this place to anyone.
Had the lunch buffet and it was cold..asked staff to warm up plate..
Decent atmosphere. I went about 6:30 & they closed for 8, so my food wasn't fresh it actually was a tad cold. The waiter seemed nice but after orders were taken and drinks were served he didn't come back to check on us. We actually refilled the drinks ourselves. All in all it wasn't a terrible experience, it could've been better. I'd be willing to go back and give it another try.
My first time here. Absolutely delicious! I had the curried chicken with rice and beans and plantains. My lunch mate had the stewed chicken. I had a taste of her dish. Also delightful. So much more I wish to return to taste, especially the goat and oxtails. The roti was so delicious.
Awesome authentic Caribbean food right here in NOLA.
You have to know how to "do" Bozwell's to really enjoy it. Go for lunch. Have the buffet. Seat yourself, and wait for your drink.
I got the jerk chicken po-boy with fries carryout. Took about 15 minutes, but it was THE BOMB! The price was not bad for the amount of food I got. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some great food at a really good price. Also they do have a buffet which looked really good.Update :Tried the buffet...I am hooked. The chicken is always good and HOT!
Will still come back forever! Amazimg food. Amazing employees
Had the jerk chicken plate. It's spicy and delicious but the mac & cheese was very bland. I probably would go there again for that jerk chicken and try something else
Their buffet is so good. Even the hot sauce on the table is excellent. And once when I had a cold, they made me ginger tea.
Honestly the service was lacking and I didn't feel welcome but I enjoyed the meal. The rice and peas with gravy and the callaloo had exciting spices and the plantains were so yummy.
Best stew wholefish! I love this place
The food was good but the plate was very skimpy. For the price I paid, $22.00 for fish macaroni, and calalou, here should have been at least twice as much more. Especially since this is New Orleans where you can get a full plate of good food from anywhere from $7 to 15. The customer service was also very abrasive. They weren’t friendly or welcoming at all.
I was impressed, got a good thing going. Nuff luv
I normally love this place but lately not good the wait is extremely too long
Great jerk chicken and salad, and beans and rice plus other Jamaican / Caribbean favorites on an AYCE lunch buffet. Nice family joint.
Its not the best Jamaian food that I have tasted. However, the beef patties are really good. Also, its a belly full for the money. They have a fantastic lunch buffet that opens at 11 am. I say its fantastic because you can pile your plate up or to go container for $ 9.99
You can tell they make the food with love, care, and compassion! Food is great, Environment is delightful! Wish they had a location in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
New in town and it was hard to find a good Jamaican restaurant. The best place hands down in New Orleans!
Very friendly and responsive wait staff. Unfortunately I wasn't that impressed with the food. It was largely unremarkable and bland. I didn't try the jerk chicken but one of their other specialties, the curry which was completely underwhelming. Mac and cheese also was bland. Their lemonade however is great.
The food was okay. I was disappointed with the dish because jerk chicken is supposed to be seasoned and have jerk sauce. The side dish macaroni pie was not good at all. The only thing that was good was the sauteed veggies. The staff were not attentive and accommodating to the customer needs.
Outside of Jamaica this is the best Jamaican food Ive tasted. My Wife is from Kingston and she agrees
Love the mutton dish.
Good food. I wouldn't say amazing, but it's solid. Jerk chicken-pork. Curry goat. Ox tail. Plantains. Buffet is pretty cool -- only lunch though. If you need a party tray, make sure you call ahead of time (hours if not the previous day). I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a different flavor profile in a city that is inundated with fried seafood and poboys.
Very tasty jamaican food.
The escaviech was fried fish not grilled and they give you a small piece of fish for almost $17. If I ever go again I would stick to the chicken.
It was good, like regular Caribbean food.
I love this place ❤️ and it's pescaterian/vegetarian friendly.. today I had shrimp Curry and callaloo... awesome.
Great great food. We always get the veggie plate, but last time had the veggie stuffed roti with a side of rice and peas. That alone would fill you up.
Definitely NOT The Best Jamaican Food I’ve Ever Tasted Which Is Quite Disappointing Because I Finally Found A Black Owned Jamaican Spot In My City 😩 The Mac & Cheese Noodles Were Overcooked & We Had To Pour Own Own Jerk Chicken On Our Chicken . Overall The Chicken Was Good w. or w.o The Sauce . I Also Had The Greens 😋😋😋😋😋 But Hopefully My Next Visit Is Better .
This site is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a good lunchon, this restaurant comes first to my head. exeptionalgorgeous and food and a large list of dishes.generous team, and nice spirit. Also, the price is decent. I suggest this place with no hesitation.
Horrible Customer service on the phone! First time ordering from here and never will again. They will hang up on you mid sentence. Ordered food through Uber eats , called to ask about adding an item lady just says we can’t add it however when I called prior to placing the order the gentlemen said we can place order then add the item,So tried to explain that to her and still order BUT she hung up mid sentence: not only that but our order was All types messed up and we called again to see Why instead of just replacing the Item that they failed to let us know that they didn’t haven’t they cancelled our order and once we called to see what happen LADY AGAIN WAS VERY RUDE AND YET AGAIN FELT THAT IT WAS OKAY TO TALk TO CUSTOMER ANY TYPES OF TONE AND WAY AND ONCE SHES SAID WHAT SHE HAD TO HANGS UP. Do better please because that’s sad
I drive down from Baton Rouge when ever I can. Love the place.
When we walked in, I felt we were not welcomed. Waited over 15 minutes for waiter to come to table. He seemed angry. When food arrived after about 30 minute wait, it was okay. Ordered the jerk chicken, mostly bones. Probably won't be returning.
I picked this spot and it was a hit. The buffet my husband loved. I had the fried fish with two sides. We enjoyed everything front setting to the food, to the tea and lemonade. This place is worthy of every penny that you spend.
Always great very traditional Jamaican/ Caribbean food, $10/ Lunch Buffet think it goes til 2-2:30, check menu online, food delivery services will bring it to you, call in for pick up usually less than 15-20, Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, Whole fried Fish, Veggie Roti, veggie stir fry or Veggie Ital Plate everything comes with 2 sides, Ox Tail...Brown Stew Chicken so good it sells out...All Excellent, Very Nice Real Folks, Been knowing this place from early 90s PreK they were located on Broad but Always worth it and reasonable
Awesome Food, Quick Service, & Great Atmosphere!Boswell is absolutely my favorite in NOLA. The food is delicious. The service is fast, and the environment is friendly. The Jamaican dishes are very savory. Also, the portions are great for the price. Absolutely Amazing Restaurant!
food was tasty but the wait was crazy
In spite of the great customer service I received today, I was greatly disappointed with my food. This was officially the worst curry chicken I have ever had the rice was hard I was served fragments of chicken (like it was the bottom of the pot) I know curry chicken is supposed to be chopped in chunks, but this was little pieces of bones, my cabbage was extremely hard, my food was cold and on top of all that it had no flavor.... NONE. $16.00 wasted gone to my garbage can. This business will not see none of my coins again.
Took my wife (an American) to this restaurant and she loved it!! She usually has to get a take out box when we eat out but damn she cleaned the plate!! A++ on the food there....
The food here is unreal. I ordered off of UberEats because I wanted to try something different and it was honestly the best food decision I've made in I don't know how long. Cant recommend enough.
They cannot cook good curry or roti worst curry or roti I have ever had ,the wait is too long and the wait staff is very un professional
Wait was entirely to long for food, food was room temp, and the waiter never came and checked on us. Food itself was decent but nothing to brag about. If they can fix their ability deal with large parties will be willing to work give more stars
The food here is always fresh and delicious! The service is exactly what you expect from a Carribean restaurant, great food with a little sass. 🙂 The oxtails and brown stewed chicken are my favorites. The coco bread is pretty good. I wish it was warmed in the oven instead of the microwave but it's still good.
